Downton Daemons AU - Edith + Hyena and Sir Anthony + Red-Ruffed Lemur
I thought I was winding down on this AU but apparently not. xD Edith’s Hyena is from Eva, but I was definitely looking at some form of primate for Strallan, and the red-ruffed lemur won out because of the large eyes and wispy hair and adorableness.
ooh~ pose turned out to be an unplanned parallel to this.

Are these DA/Deamons actually inspired by "His Dark Materials"? sorry I haven't been following your blog that attentively. but I've always wondered where this came from. Then I remembered reading these books a couple of years ago. Oh and your Downton House Elves are sooo genius. seriously ! :D
Yes, they are! As I’ve said before here are the three people who started this off - as well as crackalley who prompted the very first fic (and has since changed her url to something I don’t know). It just seemed to snowball from there because they’re so much fun to draw. :)
I read the books back in 2006. I wasn’t the biggest fan so I can’t remember anything else except for the daemons. oops! xD

sorry anon, guess I’ve been kinda obsessed. BUT actually, it’s weird but I’m honestly getting more daemon requests than non-daemon ones, which explains a lot of it. :P
but yeah I’ll go back to drawing plain ol’ downton soon. I mean eventually when I’ll have run out of characters. xD

Downton Daemons AU - O’Brien and Cora
this was a request for some cobrien (?ship name?) daemons, and it’s not all that shippy, but then the last episode was just so…canon thatI had to draw it. :|
Cora’s daemon is a swan. I wanted something with much feathery plumage for all the crazy hats she wears, but also something plain-ish because she’s not all that into showing off, but at the same time is graceful and at ease with her rich lifestyle, and also protective of her children because her husband sure don’t give a fck!

Vera gets a Black Widow Spider. It isn’t confirmed that daemons can’t turn into an insect/arachnid, yeah? I took the liberty anyway. black widows literally eat their mates after sex, hence the name. It was either this, or the carpenter ant that literally explodes itself to defeat an enemy. oh, vera.
oh and Rosamund gets a fox. because.

I like the idea that Sybil’s daemon always chose to be creatures that could change themselves in some way (i.e. a chameleon changing colours, stoat changing its coat, other…such…camaflauge-y creatures?)

Dear chirravutever - I have no tumblr, but have been following your blog with great interest for quite some time. I adore your HP drawings, headcanons and animations, and I honestly thought nothing could be better. Then you started doing Downton dæmons, and thus combined one of my favourite book series with my favourite tv series, and I was proven wrong. If it isn't too much to ask, could you please draw Thomas with his dæmon, or Sybil/Branson with theirs? Thank you, and keep drawing!

I just want to make it super super clear though, that the downton daemons idea was not mine. It originated from these awesome people! And I feel like I’ve hijacked the tag by assigning all these animals to these characters and idk if anyone even agrees with them, but I can’t seem to stop myself!
